Maria has been singing since the age of 6 and has sung and taught professionally since she was 17. She has many skills and qualifications in the fields of singing, music and theatre.
In 2006, Maria received a Postgraduate Diploma in Music Performance (Classical Voice) from James Cook University. Her other qualifications include a Bachelor Degree in Music Performance (Voice) from Universiti Putra, Malaysia, a Diploma in Singing Performance and a Grade 6 with Honours Certificate in Theory of Music from the London College of Music, a Grade 5 with Merit Certificate in Piano and a Grade 5 in Theory of Music from ABRSM, and a Grade 8 in Voice from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Maria has held her own solo performance recitals, including "Serate Musicales, an Evening of Voice Recital with Maria Raiz" and "The Maria Raiz Voice Recital". She had a solo performance in "La Serenata Musicale" with Viva Opera, and has also appeared in "The Merry Widow" with Lyric Opera Malaysia, and in Puccini's "Turandot" and "Tosca". She has also been involved in the UPM Choir in Kuala Lumpur and was appointed as a soloist in the choir for 3 years. She has also participated in quite a number of vocal masterclasses in Kuala Lumpur and Australia.
As a teacher, Maria emphasises the foundation of music, breathing, accentuation of words, lyric diction, phrasing, song interpretation and brief music theory, and can help prepare her students for classical singing competitions and auditions.
Maria believes that passion, determination, practice and hard work are essential for any performance, and looks forward to sharing her knowledge and experience with her students.

Maria telah mula menyanyi dan membuat persembahan semenjak berumur 6 tahun dan telah menyanyi secara professional semenjak berumur 17 tahun dan mempunyai kelayakan dan skil yang pelbagai dalam bidang nyanyian, muzik dan teater.

Beliau percaya bahawa semangat dan keinginan yang kuat , latihan serta kerja keras adalah penting untuk apa jua persembahan dan hendak berkongsi pengalaman dan pengetahuannya dengan pelajarnya.

*At least 3 days' notice is required for lesson cancellations, otherwise the full lesson fee is payable.
Discounted Fee applies to full-time students, unemployed, fully-employed but currently enrolled in a recognised study course, part-time employed (less than 25 hours per week), disabled and pensioners.
Other Arts Fee includes any subject offered outside singing training only, such as acting, dance and musical instrument lessons. Classes using a combination of singing and another arts subject are charged at the usual singing lesson rate.
Bring a Friend Free Some students may prefer to share lessons each week to reduce costs. This offer is available on all services except workshops, functions and events.
Home lessons are available on request an additional fee of $50 is payable over and above any lesson fees (some areas are not available for service).
